After 7 surgeries, draining out of pocket expenses, extensive scarring and constant pain, I scheduled yet another surgical consult for implant removal. My goal was to have the implants removed and be done with the pain and deformity. I had surgery after surgery with the hopes that contracture would not reappear again. Every surgeon I consulted wanted me to pay upwards of 30k and replace the implants with no promise of ending the cycle of capsular contracture which deforms your breasts and is excruciatingly painful. I had lived with it so long because I had no idea there were other options, options that were permanent, and that my insurance would pay for. After much research and several paid consults, I spoke with Dr. Srinivasa. She immediately asked what my goal was, and what was important to me. She offered her professional opinion with such confidence and said a DIEP flap would be a great option for me. Not only would the implants be gone forever, along with so many side affects I was having because of them but, since she was using my own tissue to reconstruct my breasts I was given a tummy tuck as well. She explained the procedure to me and we scheduled an in-office visit. I have had consultations from around the United States in hopes of finding someone that would have a solution that wouldn’t leave me with a caved in chest or more implants. Dr. Srinivasa knew immediately what would work for me, leaving me with natural tissue and beautiful results that were beyond what I expected. She is meticulous and brilliant as a surgeon, and is a dedicated, compassionate person. Her team is absolutely, bar none, the best there is. They were able to confirm my insurance coverage and drastically reduced my out of pocket expenses. I had to fly to Southern California to see her and would do it again without hesitation. Yes, I still had some out of pocket expense, and yes, I traveled to see her, and yes, there was definitely an investment of time and healing but, I am so grateful for her and her team and the amazing, permanent results I got. I truly believe Dr. Srinivasa is the best there is in her field. She is an amazing surgeon and human being. I’m 61 years young and I look absolutely amazing, thanks to Dr. Srinivasa and her cutting edge technology. Driven by a commitment to excellence, a cut-above-the-rest skill level, and last, but not at all least, her amazing supportive, caring and knowledgeable team, I’m happy to offer my whole-hearted recommendation!

I met with four experienced microsurgeons from different facilities in a major metropolitan city on the east coast to discuss having a DIEP flap. Dr. Srinivasa was the final surgeon I met with and I really didn't think I would travel to California for surgery but was curious to hear what she had to say. Dr. Srinivasa was the only surgeon who brought up the donor site first and discussed it as an integral part of the surgery (which it is). All four microsurgeons treated it as an afterthought and for that reason I had delayed getting the surgery despite a ruptured implant from prior radiation. At the conclusion of my consult with her, I knew she was the surgeon I would entrust with this major surgery which I came to accept was the best surgical option for me. Dr. Srinivasa's office staff helped me prepare for surgery, obtain insurance certification and explained where I should look for accommodations which would be most convenient. My surgery went very well, I had an excellent experience from the hospital stay to my clinic visits with Dr. Srinivasa to my lovely airbnb etc. I returned 9 months later for my revision (scar revision and fat grafting) and had another wonderful experience. I did have an issue with my initial surgical wound healing (a possible side effect which can occur with any abdominal surgery) which she repaired beautifully at the revision. She was willing to move up my revision to repair it sooner and was available to talk to on the phone and asked me to send her photos and was very reassuring. I have experienced several different surgeons, and I can attest that she is the only one who responds so personally and promptly. As a patient, that is appreciated beyond words. I am very satisfied with my result, feel better with an all-natural tissue reconstruction and look so much more like my previous self than I did after my bilateral mastectomy with implant placement. Sometimes I forget I even had a mastectomy which is one of the greatest feelings there is after going through this very long and challenging experience. It's nice not to have a constant reminder of one of the lowest points in your life. I recommend Dr. Srinivasa without reservation. Having my DIEP flap performed by her was the single best thing I ever did for myself and my recovery. Thank you, Dr. Srinivasa!!!
