Understanding Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Procedures

A breast lift, medically known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to eliminate breast sagging caused by heredity, aging, or post-pregnancy changes. The technique involves resecting skin to restore breast shape and position.

Combined Lift and Augmentation Approach

Cannon Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery recognizes that breast lift procedures often require a nuanced approach. In many cases, augmentation-mastopexy might be necessary to achieve the patient's desired aesthetic result.

Surgical Considerations

  • Mild to moderate ptosis may allow for conservative lift with augmentation
  • Significant ptosis might require a two-stage surgical procedure
  • Implant size typically less than 250cc for optimal results

Personalized Surgical Planning

Cannon Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery develops individualized treatment plans considering multiple factors, including:

  • Patient's height and frame
  • Shoulder and pelvic width
  • Existing breast size and symmetry
  • Nipple position
  • Skin elasticity

Recovery and Expectations

Patients can typically expect the following recovery timeline:

  • One week initial recovery period
  • Most restrictions lifted after two weeks
  • Prescribed month-long self-massage routine
  • Near-final results by six weeks
  • Continued breast refinement for six to twelve months

Dr. Cannon and his staff are very professional. He takes his time and explains everything. As a breast cancer patient; I already had anxiety, they did all they could to put me at ease. I am very happy the results of my surgical procedures.

I'll be nice and give a 2 even though their billing department killed it for them. Dr Cannon himself was okay. A little to busy to answer questions or actually see the patient 90% of the time. Office staff was great. Sweet and welcoming. The billing office... well let's see after an initial visit, a surgery to place a pin, and a few follow up visits they actually had the nerve to send a whopping $13 to collections (obviously we didn't know about it) and contact us via e-mail AFTERWARDS. When I received the email that said it would be sent to collections I told them to wait on sending it to collections and to send me an invoice so I could pay it. I gave them the correct address ( we recently moved) and phone number and then received an email back stating they already sent it to collections and we could take it up with the collection agency. RUDE as could be!! I have no problem paying my bills and was willing to do so as soon as I was aware of it. Obviously they don't care enough to give the patient a chance! Don't know if I would deal with this office again. If you have trouble with your insurance company or can't pay right away for whatever reason don't go here. It's not worth the drama you'll get when you try to pay your bill.
