As a woman who had matured early and had been “blessed” with a big chest from a young age, getting a breast reduction had been on my radar since the age of 18. There is a lot of emotional and mental stress that develops over time when you’ve dealt with the attention that a big chest can draw as well as the inconvenience they can bring in limiting clothing and other aspects of life. So, finding a plastic surgeon who not only could perform a breast reduction, but who could also show empathy and kindness in acknowledging the baggage that comes with the desire to have one, was a must. I found that in Dr. Derby. He let me cry as I off loaded the “why” behind me sitting in his consult room and, from that moment on, cradled my feelings and ensured I would get what I was seeking physically. From that point on, every appointment was like going to meet a friend and that extended to the entire staff from the front of house to the surgical team and day to day nursing staff at Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center. I could not be happier with the results of my surgery and have a refreshed perspective on my own self-esteem, wholly because of Dr. Derby and his team. There aren’t enough stars I can give him for what he’s done for me.
