Understanding Eyelid Surgery

Like many individuals, your eyes are a critical physical feature. As aging progresses, the skin around your eyes weakens and develops wrinkles. Upper and lower eyelids may sag, creating a tired or upset appearance and potentially obstructing vision.

Blepharoplasty Candidacy

Typical blepharoplasty candidates are 35 or older, though younger patients experiencing early eyelid drooping may also be excellent candidates. Ideal patients seek to:

  • Diminish signs of aging
  • Reduce wrinkles
  • Address drooping eyelids

Upper Eyelid Surgery

Upper eyelid procedures address sagging and puffy eyelids by removing excess fatty tissue. The remaining skin is gently pulled taut to achieve a more youthful appearance.

Lower Eyelid Surgery

Lower eyelid surgery targets fat deposits and excess skin. Surgeons make precise incisions beneath the lower eyelash to remove problematic tissue, dramatically transforming one's appearance.

Procedure Benefits

  • Removing excess upper eyelid skin
  • Reducing puffiness
  • Raising sagging eyelids
  • Improving field of vision
  • Creating a more alert appearance

Surgical Approach

Blepharoplasty is completely customized. Patients can choose to address upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Local anesthesia is typically used, with general anesthesia available for patient comfort.

Surgical Technique

Surgeons create tiny incisions hidden in natural eyelid folds. For upper eyelids, incisions are made in the eyelid crease. Excess skin is carefully trimmed, and minor muscle adjustments are performed as needed.

Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery typically takes 10-14 days. Patients should prepare with ice packs, gauze, pain medication, and potentially assistance from a family member during initial recovery.

Important Considerations

Certain medical conditions may impact blepharoplasty candidacy, including glaucoma, detached retina, dry eyes, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or thyroid conditions.

I inquired about receiving services via their website and never heard anything back. 2-3 weeks later I called to inquire and even sent in photos for which the services I was looking to receive and never heard anything back. I find this business to be unprofessional.

So this is based solely off of my consultation: Very friendly, professional staff...Beautiful office...The Dr answered all my questions kindly and to my satisfaction...The only criticism I can offer was I felt a little rushed when it came time to pay the deposit and I would have appreciated phone calls instead of texts when I had questions after the consultation...but I know they are busy and overall I’m excited to have surgery on the 28th...Will do another review based on that experience and then another one once I’ve healed from the surgery and see the final results! So far : 5 stars ...
