Understanding Facelift Surgery

A facelift, medically known as rhytidectomy, is a sophisticated plastic surgery procedure designed to address visible signs of aging in the face and neck. The surgery targets deep facial creases, sagging skin, and loss of facial muscle tone that develop over time.

What a Facelift Can Accomplish

  • Reduce deep cheek folds
  • Minimize jowl formation
  • Tighten loose skin around the neck
  • Restore a more youthful facial contour

Surgical Procedure Details

Facelift incisions are strategically placed to minimize visible scarring. Typically, incisions begin above the hairline at the temples, follow the natural contour in front of the ear, curve behind the earlobe, and extend into the lower scalp.

Surgical Technique

During the procedure, facial and neck tissues are carefully separated. Underlying muscles are tightened, excess fat may be trimmed or suctioned, and skin is repositioned to create a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Most surgical scars will be discretely hidden within hair and natural skin creases.

Ideal Candidates for Facelift

The best facelift candidates are individuals with:

  • Mild to moderate facial skin sagging
  • Skin with remaining elasticity
  • Strong, well-defined bone structure
  • Generally between 40-70 years old

Recovery and Expectations

Patients can expect initial swelling and bruising that typically resolves within several weeks. Most individuals return to normal activities within 10-14 days. While a facelift cannot stop the aging process, it can effectively reset the clock, providing long-lasting aesthetic improvements.

I had and paid for BI and tummy tuck in 2020, $13,500 day of surgery only BI was done. Was told surgery was cut short due to issues inserting cat tube . After and at 6 months I had complained that my breast were sagging, falling to side when laying down and when arms are up I looked uneven. Dr. Griffen dismissed me as a patient and would not even try to look at, fix ect. Now I had a remaining credit with his practice due to the tummy tuck not being done. It took me over a year to get it back and when I arrived at the office I was meet by there attorney and a paper I was required to sign first. The paperwork stated I couldn't speak about or put Dr. Griffin in a bad light. It was 1 week before Christmas and I needed my money so I signed the paperwork but I also recorded the conversation because I felt threatened and made to agree or they wouldn't give my money back. The staff were amazing. I also felt that they didn't want to so what he was making them do to me. (Paperwork) I'm left with sagging, uneven breast

Dr. Griffin did my breast reduction October 2018. He did a wonderful job and I'm overly excited about my new breast. No more aching back pain or burning shoulders. Now I'm ready for a tummy tuck 2023!!
