Understanding Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) Surgery

Brachioplasty is a specialized body contouring procedure designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms. This surgical technique helps patients achieve more toned and defined arm aesthetics by addressing loose or sagging skin that cannot be improved through diet and exercise.

Procedure Overview

Atlantic Center for Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery offers comprehensive arm lift procedures tailored to individual patient needs. The surgery typically involves strategic incisions to remove redundant skin and may incorporate liposuction for enhanced body sculpting results.

Ideal Candidates for Arm Lift Surgery

  • Individuals who have experienced significant weight loss
  • Patients with loose, sagging arm skin due to aging
  • Those struggling with skin elasticity issues
  • Patients in good overall health

Surgical Techniques

Depending on the extent of skin laxity, two primary arm lift techniques are utilized:

  • Mini Arm Tuck: Limited incision within the armpit area
  • Standard Brachioplasty: Comprehensive skin removal from armpit to elbow

Recovery and Expectations

Most patients can return to work within one to two weeks following the procedure. Temporary restrictions and careful post-operative care are essential for optimal healing and results.

Potential Considerations

Patients should understand that arm lift surgery will result in permanent surgical scars. The location and visibility of these scars vary based on individual surgical approach and healing characteristics.

Post-Surgical Benefits

  • Improved arm contour and definition
  • Enhanced clothing fit
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Reduced skin irritation and chafing

Update: After I reached out to the office manager about my concerns, she was very apologetic. I was seen in the office immediately, and my questions and concerns were thoroughly addressed at that time. I also saw the doctor, and he was told of my concerns, and he was extremely apologetic as well. Since this review my experience has greatly improved, and I feel so much more comfortable when I go to the office. While I'm still not happy with my results, and I'm trying to allow time to fully healing to see any change. FYI did receive a refund for the balance the insurance paid within 1 month of my surgery. I wanted to wait till the process was over, but I’m beyond frustrated at this point and regretting my decision going with Atlantic Center for Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. Prior to Surgery the staff was extremely friendly, but since it’s been such a disappoint. It feels like every time I reach out about a concern the attitude received is dismissive or unresponsive. I have no clue my true condition because no one will listen or look at me. I send texts to nurse line and there are times there is no acknowledgement or follow up. They give you all this paperwork which makes you believe that you’re prepared, but after thorough review the instructions are confusing or conflicted. I feel like I’m completely alone in my post care. I had my 2-week post op appointment today and left crying because not once did the nurse ask how I was feeling, or tell me if I was healing properly, or show any compassion at all. I also did not see the doctor; I was told I won’t see him until my 3-month appointment. The one time I spoke to the doctor which was the day after surgery on the phone to describe the adverse effects I was experiencing; he was rude and aggressive towards me. It was a surprise because he was so friendly prior to surgery. The surgery I received was medically necessary and it was complete change for my body, and there has been no compassion, no understanding and overall lack of care during post op from these people. I’m not happy with my results, and I’m now experiencing body dysphoria, but no one cares. Another issue is they never responded to my FMLA paperwork that was sent prior to surgery, so that caused issues at work for me. Come to find out they wouldn’t do the paperwork until I paid them $50. I had to fax them the paperwork again and beg for it to be done so I can be paid for my leave! Still not sure it’s been done. Lastly, my procedure was covered by insurance, but I was told I had an out-of-pocket expense, which I paid. However, I got my claim documents from the insurance company, I noticed I paid $1500 more then I should have… which means they got money from me and the insurance company. I’m hoping I’ll get a refund. For anyone considering them please do your research and look for options just in case. If I had any hint how horrible post op care would be then I would have never gone with this office! I’m praying it gets better but I’m documenting everything in case anything happens.

Very friendly staff. Because i am considered a high risk patient Dr. Davoudi was very professional and explained all of options even though I would be a candidate for surgery at this time.
